The Druid's Werebear form in Diablo 4 is all about dishing out tons of damage in large bursts with its big, meaty swings. It isn't as fast-paced as the class' other builds, but it can clear content just as quickly when equipped with the right Aspects and gear.

The following is a Pulverize Werebear build that's optimized for level 50 and beyond. Using it in the early stretches of Nightmare difficulty might be a little rough, but once players get the right items going, it can comfortably bulldoze through Torment difficulty and most Nightmare Dungeons in Diablo 4.

The build revolves around Pulverize and Trample for general mob clear, while Grizzly Rage provides the extra damage needed to fight against elites and bosses. Debilitating Roar is used as both a defensive skill and Spirit generator with Aspect of the Umbral, while Earthen Bulwark provides extra protection with a healthy serving of Fortify.

Pulverize is guaranteed to Overpower after every 12 seconds of staying Healthy (i.e. staying above 80% HP). The Fortify effects from the skills above should be more than enough to keep players above this threshold in most cases. If not, then drinking a health potion will do the trick.

Storm Strike is the preferred Basic Skill here because of its chances to inflict Vulnerable and Immobilize as well as its high Spirit high generation value. Players can swap this out for Earth Spike if they feel like they need an extra source of Fortify.

The passives here focus on buffing the player's Earth damage and stats while in Werebear form. Certain Legendary Aspects turn Pulverize and Trample into Earth and Nature skills, allowing them to enjoy the benefits of passives like Circle of Life, which heals the Druid every time they use Nature skills that consume Spirit.

For Players can swap between Ursine Strength and Earthen Might Key Passives based on personal preference. The former synergizes well with the general Werebear playstyle of staying Healthy, while the latter can potentially solve (albeit unreliably) the build's Spirit issues while granting a short duration of guaranteed crits.

As for Spirit Boons, the most important part here is the Snake's Obsidian Slam since Pulverize and Trample will become Earth skills with the Aspects below. This is a second source of guaranteed Overpower procs for Pulverize, allowing it to deal massive damage two casts in a row.

Crowded Sage

Trampled Earth

Shockwave and Ursine Horror are the key Aspects of this build. The first causes Pulverize to emit a shockwave in a forward cone, while the second creates a patch of rumbling earth spikes after Pulverize is used. The latter is especially useful for stacking damage on top of tanky targets. Aspect of the Crowded Sage will help keep players Healthy so they can Overpower more often.

Meanwhile, Trampled Earth turns Trample into an Earth skill and causes Landslides to erupt as the Druid charges forward. This is an amazing initiation tool that can easily demolish common mobs, especially when Obsidian Slam is ready.

Quicksand synergizes with Umbral to essentially reduce the resource cost of Pulverize and Trample by refunding Spirit for every enemy they hit. Also, since Innate Debilitating Roar slows enemies, using it in the middle of a large pack can completely refill the Druid's Spirit globe.

As for gear, players should stack items with affixes that increase Vulnerable, Critical Strike, Overpower, and Core Skill damage. Defense-wise, make sure to get as much Life as possible to boost Overpower damage even more before stacking Armor and Damage Reduction effects.

Paragon Boards

Use the Exploit Glyph on the first board while taking damage-related nodes, then attach the Inner Beast board for its bonuses to Shapeshifting damage and Max Life. Insert the Dominate Glyph here to increase the damage enemies take if they survive Overpowered hits from Pulverize and Trample.

Next, attach the Ancestral Guidance board and take the Core Skill Damage nodes while on the way to the Glyph Socket and Legendary Node. This board will help with resource management while providing a healthy suite of offensive stats. Slot in the Fang and Claw Glyph for more damage against Close targets while in Werebear form.

Other good boards include Survival Instinct for more damage reduction and Earthen Devastation for increased damage against Crowd-Controlled enemies.

Diablo 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
