Potions, food, elixirs, and even keys are all examples of items that could be referred to as "consumables" in Diablo 4. They're used to give the character bonuses to defense, certain spells, and abilities, as in something the character eats or drinks, but it can be anything that disappears after it is used. Any class can make use of elixirs, but there are some that a Sorceress should always have in Diablo 4.

RELATED: Diablo 4: The Best Leveling Elixirs And How To Make ThemMost of the elixirs have general benefits that are great for any character, but there are a few that are the best for Diablo's classic spellcasting class. Most of the time they have to be crafted by the Alchemy vendor, who makes both the elixirs and the incense, but sometimes the player can purchase other consumable items from other vendors.

7 Elixir of Demon Slaying

In a game called Diablo, it makes sense that a vast majority of the enemies in Sanctuary are going to be demons. The elixir not only boosts experience earned but also increases the damage they do against Demons and their close allies, which include Goatmen, Fallen, and Flies. It's especially useful for a Sorcerer, a class that tends to be squishy at weak at low levels.

This is a nice option for any class in this game, and players can make weaker versions of it at lower levels to get a boost provided they have the materials. The exact ingredients vary depending on the level of elixir, but every concoction needs herbs like Gallowvine and more advanced onesoften require Angelbreath.

6 Whispering Keys

A Greater Radiant Chest in Diablo 4

There is a ton of loot in Diablo 4, and some of it comes from the chests that players find in the wilderness. Most of the time, these caches of booty are rewarded for events and simply left unattended, and are never a problem to open, but once in a while the player finds a Silent Chest. These can only be opened using a Whispering Key.

Players will probably find a Silent Chest before they figure out how and where to buy Whispering Keys

5 Elixir Of Poison Resistance

There are so many enemies in Sanctuary that use poison, in both the wilderness and in dungeons, that the Elixir of Poison Resistance is great for any class. The description of the potion doesn't give any exact details as to the kind of poison, so that means everything and the list includes spiders, fungi, snakes, insects, lizards, and mutated forms of all of the above.

The Sorcerer is the class with the lowest Strength stat and is the most vulnerable to damage in combat. This could be the most important resistance potion that the Sorcerer should always carry with them.

4 Third Eye Elixir

Resistance elixirs that help players against certain types of elemental damage are great, but it's also helpful to have something to help with defensive abilities. This is especially true for the squishy Sorcerer, who needs to organize various skills for movement speed and crowd control.RELATED: Diablo 4: Fun Overpowered BuildsThe Third Eye elixir is an option for classes that have so little armor that just getting out of the way is a better option. It gives the usual boost to experience gained, but its name comes from the improvement of the Dodge ability that makes it seem as if the character can sense incoming attacks and move in time, even if they don't see them.

3 Elixir of Man-Slaying

Plenty of the enemies that players will face include Bandits, Cannibals, Cultists, and Knights Penitent, and this elixir gives a boost to the damage done against them all. After demons, these types of enemies might run a close second and play an important part in several of the quests that are part of the main campaign.

This is an elixir that Sorcerers won't be able to make until they venture into areas where uncommon herbs like Angelbreath are found. Another rare but more obvious ingredient is Paletongue, which characters can pick up from any of the above enemies after they've been slain.

2 Sage's Incense

This is one of the few consumables in the game that directly boosts Intelligence, the Sorcerer's most important stat. The catch is that it's a type of incense, which means it's really intended for group play, especially if the party has more than one Sorcerer.

In a game in which roles such as tank don't exist, everyone has to take care of their own crowd control and healing even when they're in a party. Having some of this incense on hand when the group is involved is essential for a Sorcerer.

1 Elixir Of Assault

Moving more quickly is an advantage to any class, but when applied to the spellcasting abilities of the Sorcerer, it becomes a matter of life or death. This elixir grants the usual experience points buff along with increasing the character's attack speed, and extra speed is always great for a caster.

Unlike melee fighters, who stay within arms-length of their victims most of the time and can take more hits, the Sorcerer needs to stay at a ranged distance most of the time. That means time is of the essence, and attack speed means more spells in fewer steps.

Diablo 4 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
