Diablo 4 is an ARPG that will be split up into seasons. Every time a new season comes around, players will need to redo some of the side quests in order to raise their renown in each location again. This means heading back to the Fractured Peaks, Scosglen, the Dry Steppes, Kehjistan, and Hawezar to collect quest from as many NPCs as quickly as possible. Hawezar has a grand total of 49 of these side quests, and players will want to know what they need to get them and finish them quickly.
Umir Plateau Side Quests
Umir Plateau is home to Zarbinzet and the Lost City of Ureh. It is the western-most section of Hawezar's map, and it is just south of Crusader's Monument. It holds eight side quests to find.
The Heretic

This is the beginning of a quest chain called the Heretic and includes two other quests. Chat with Vass is the city, and they will send players to the Abandoned Ruins to look for survivors. Players will find a woman named Aneta, who will ask them to gather three flowers in the area; the Withered Delphinium from the Withered Plant, the Singed Daisy from the Singed Plant, the Dying Rose from the Dying Plant. These will be in the highlighted areas on the map. After finding all three flowers, bring Aneta home to her mother in Zarbinzet. Aneta will be dragged out into the Forgotten Cave and attacked by villagers. Kill all the demons that appear, then the next quest will immediately start: A Price to Pay.
A Price to Pay

Go back to Aneta's home, and speak with her mother, Vera. Players will begin to hear whispering; look for the source of it. A woman named Suzana stands outside the house, waiting. Chat with her, then follow her. She asks players to search all the homes in town for a book on folk remedies. The dispensary has the book Suzana wants. Go to the Hawezar dungeon the Plagued Tunnels to help get the ingredients needed for Aneta's cure: 8 Spider venom. Put these in the pot boiling outside of the door of the dungeon. Speak with Gulyas, who is by the boiling pot. This starts the third part of this quest chain: Poisoned Hearts. The information about this quest will be down in the Fethis Wetlands section, where the quest is picked up.
Remnants of Faith

Tomyris is an NPC located in the city of Zarbinzet. After chatting with him, he will relocate to the Fethis Wetlands. He will tell players of a broken bridge shortcut, and he will come along. Head to the southeast toward the highlighted part of the map. Cross the bridge, then enter Maugan's Folly. Tomyris will be in front of Johanna's body, but her armor will be missing. Follow Tomyris to Maugan's Work; Johanna's armor is in the final, northernmost room of this dungeon. Talk to Tomyris to end the quest and grab this rare Diablo 4 armor.
Overstepping the Mark

Buy the Emblem from Mislan, then bring it to Lyndon in Rotspill Delta.
Coiled Grasp

Head to the highlighted area on the map and look for Crusader Berolt's body. It will be in the Reach of Adulation. Inspect his corpse and find Berolt’s Orders on him. Read them.
Glittering Abundance

Interact with Glittering Ore Veins in the Wetlands until coming across a gem-laden geode. Bring this item to the Dry Steppes location Ked Bardu, and give it to Tungal, the jeweler.
To Walk a Dark Path

Interact with Father Dymus in Zarbinzet, then head to the Decaying Farmstead. Kill the marked enemies to get the Lockbox Key to open the Lockbox, and pick up Symon's Journal page. The page will point players to Tibault's Grasp. Once there, players will come across some Frightened Pilgrims; defeat them, then talk to them. This will complete the quest and unlock the next one: At Any Cost side quest.
At Any Cost

Go to the Strange Refuge dungeon; inside, kill the wildlife and investigate the camp site. On the right side of the final room, there will be a Groaning Corpse that can speak; talk to it, then it will attack. Collect its head, the quest item acolyte’s head. There are some half-melted candles very close to where the Corpse was found; interact with them. Places around the room will then be highlighted; place each candle in the indicated location to start the ritual. Then place the acolyte’s head. Speak to the head again, and it will start the next quest in the chain: Turbulent Waters.
Turbulent Waters

Head to Backwater and ask locals about Elias. Purchase a bottle of Cerrigar Mead from the Rings vendor, then take it to Sev. Talk to Sev again.
Fethis Wetlands Side Quests
Fethis Wetlands is in the middle south of the map of Hawezar. It is surrounded by the Fields of Desecration, Vyeresz, and the Ruins of Rakhat Keep. This central location is home to dungeons, several of Hawezar's Altar's of Lilith, and a handful of side quests that can build up renown.
Poisoned Hearts

- Reward: Aneta's Keepsake
Pick up Aneta's Keepsake from the ground by the boiling pot. Then, head to Gulyas' home in the highlighted area of the map; there, players will find three braziers that need to be extinguished, surrounding the prone figure of Aneta. Speak with both Aneta, who will wake once the braziers are broken, and then with Gulyas. Aneta will ask players to find four rotting livers in the highlighted area. She will follow; players just need to lead her safely to each location. After gathering all four, go to the Hidden Glade. Aneta will place the livers in the bowl there, and start the ritual with Gulyas. Once it begins, enemies will spawn; kill them to fill the Altar's bowl with blood. Once it is full, some villagers will attack; kill them as well. Head to the Rustwash to talk to Aneta again. Return to Gulyas' home, then read Aneta's letter.
Flesh and Blood

The NPC Yonca can be found in Light's Wane for this Diablo 4 Side Quest. After speaking to her, she will ask players to guard her back to the farmhouse in the highlighted area. Step inside, then search the different caches around the room. Then, talk to Yonca again, and she will ask for players to lead her to the river where her father's body should be. Find it, then search the corpse. Players will find some wind chime parts in the farmhouse and on the body; give them to Yonca. Follow her instructions to fix the wind chimes and keep her safe. Bring her back to the farmhouse, then speak with her again.
Ruins of Rahkat Keep Side Quests
Central Hawezar is dominated by the Ruins of Rahkat Keep. Located between the Fethis Wetlands and the Dismal Foothills, this keep is home to one side quest: Lost Legacy.
Lost Legacy

Players will be able to find the NPC Ksenia inside the keep. Ksenia will then head to the fort; catch up with them there. Players will then have to enter the Sealed Quarters along with Ksenia, then inspect the corpse there. Mathias, Corrupted Paladin will spawn; defeat this demon. Then Ksenia will tell players to perform a ritual. They'll need Mathias’ Betrayal which drops from Mathias, Eleazar’s Choice which will drop from fighting Elwazar, Alodia’s Wrath which will drop from the demon Alodia, and then to find the curse’s root. Place the items around the root, and it will summon Carthas, Corrupted Paladin. Defeat him.
Side Quests in the Dismal Foothills
Just south of the Dobrev Taiga in the Fractured Peaks, players will find the Dismal Foothills. This northern territory in Diablo 4 holds 10 side quests to collect.
What Can't be Cured

Gift of the Swamp
- Quest Pick Up Location: Path of Desperation

Marta will ask players for help with her stomach; bring her Yolanda. Marta will spawn a bunch of enemies. Kill them, and it will start the side quest Fungal Remedies automatically.
Fungal Remedies

- Prerequisites: The Gift of the Swamp Side Quest
- Reward: Elixir Cache
Head into the Pilgrim's Cave, the highlighted place on the map. Collect 10 Gano Fungus, then meet up with Yolanda who is now near the Wejinhani waypoint. Put the Fungus in the pot as directed by Yolanda. Once it's done, give the Fungus medicine to both Thanak and Jana; Jana is in the room where the pot was, and Thanak is in a house nearby. Next, head back to Yolanda.
Heart of Mold

Now that Yolanda is better, she will ask players to remove the head from the Grotesque Trophy. Next, head to the highlighted area to find the clearing in the Corpsewail Deluge. Put the head in the Offering Bowl found there. Light both of the two Mossy Torches, and the NPC Zurke will show up. He will ask players to kill an Elite named Nuroth the Vile Fang, taking its snake eyes and bringing them back to him. He will then give players the Moldy Heart to bring back to Yolanda.
Closing the Book

To start the side quest Closing the Book in Diablo 4, players will need to complete the Stronghold listed above, then speak to Akos in town. Go to Eriman's Pyre and meet up with Akos there. Players will need to pick up four ledger pages in each of the highlighted areas. Return each page to Akos to finish the quest.
Desperate Remedies

- Reward: Herb Cache
First, Elder Lau will ask players to help him find Brecht's corpse in one the pyres in the highlighted area of the map. Search them until the right body is found. Brecht's body will have a journal on it; take this back to the Elder, who will be running up to where the player is. Next, head to the Light's Refuge Hawezar dungeon. Kill Aldara there and pick up Aldara's Amulet, then head to Elderwood Grove to speak with Lau again. He will ask players to put the amulet on the Altar, and this will complete the quest.
A Question of Self

- Reward: Elixir Cache
Players will be charged with finding Taissa and giving her some herbs. When she is found, kill the Shades of Grief and then destroy the Chains of Anguish. Chat with Taissa, then follow her. Chat with her again to end the quest and start the next in the chain: Past Regrets.
Past Regrets

After the last quest is finished, Taissa will send players to Timue to get Taissa's amulet. Timue will direct players to a chest in his home; inside will be the amulet, called The Mark of the Conclave. Head to the Tree of Whispers and talk to Taissa again. She will then charge players to kill Nangari Oracles and collect 4 of their eyes. The Oracles will be highlighted with red dots on the map. Head back to the Tree of Whispers, and Taissa will cast a spell that will reveal a doorway. Head inside. Light the torches around the room inside, then speak with Taissa and Timue. This will start the next quest in the chain: A Series of Steps.
A Series of Steps

After completing Past Regrets, chat with Timue and Taissa. Taissa will ask players to look into the Ritual Flames. Accompany Taissa to Elias’ Sanctum, and clear out all the enemies. Keep looking for new Ritual Flames to peer into, then speak to Taissa in between each until the Whisper of Andariel spawns. Kill it, then talk to Taissa again.
Chained Zakarum Repository

- Reward: Zakarum Repository
Loot Slain Villager corpses in the area until finding the Chained Zakarum Repository. Defeat red-marked Fallen and Burned to gather enough Lingering Essence to fill up the Repository's bar.
Blightmarsh Side Quests
Blightmarsh makes up most of the center of Hawezar's map. Players can find both Witchwater and Serpent's Lair there, but the area is fairly sparse. There are a total of two side quests in it.
Venom of the Nangari

After completing the requisite side quests, Nangari enemies can randomly drop a Curious Venom item. Pick it up and bring it Timue's Hovel; ask Timue if they want the venom.
The Swamp's Protection

- Reward: Herb Cache
Get Timue's Supplies from the chest inside her home. Next, find Baridan near the first highlighted area, then Duraya in the second, and then defeat bandits in the 3rd until Raldin appears. Next, find the bandit's den in Exiles' Heap, and kill everyone inside. Bring the news bank to Timue.
Side Quests in Vyeresz
Vyeresz is a small location just north of the Toxic Fens. Players can find a Waypoint inside as well as two side quests.
Left Behind

Mateen will ask players to find Derin. Derin can be found in the Shadowed Plunge; give him a healing potion before returning to Mateen.
Lost Cause

- Prerequisites: Complete Vyeresz Stronghold
- Reward: Salvage Cache
Gather 10 Zakarum Prayer Amulets from the red-marked cultists on the map. Then return them to Erdener.
Toxic Fens Side Quests
The Toxic Fens make up a good portion of the southern-most border of Hawezar. It may be a massive zone, but it only has one side quest.
Hungering Necrolyte's Cache

- Reward: Sated Necrolyte's Cache
Kill marked enemies to fill up the death anima gauge until the quest is complete.
Forsaken Coast Side Quests
The Forsaken Coast makes up about half of the coastline in Hawezar. Players can find a dozen more side quests in this location.
By Three They Come
- Quest Pick Up Location: Backwater
- Quest NPC: Sev
- Prerequisites: Turbulent Waters side quest
- Reward: One-Eyed Swordsman's Blade
After Turbulent Waters is over, Sev will ask players to meet them in the Fethis Wetlands and this quest will start automatically. Head to Esret in Fethis and find him again. Together, players and Sev will head into the Halls of Dark Portent to look for remnants of Symon. After going through several rooms and attacking everything inside, players will find Symon's Corpse and his journal. Return them to Father Dymus in Zarbinzet.
Necrotic Research

- Prerequisites: The Heretic Full Quest Chain

Gulyas will ask players to get one Necrotic Flesh and five Snake Venom by killing marked enemies on the map. Then head back to Gulyas to end the quest, and this will also start the next one in the chain: Bad Blood.
Bad Blood

- Prerequisites: Necrotic Research, The Heretic Full Quest Chain

With the stuff players gathered in Necrotic Research, Gulyas will make Gulyas' potion. Go to Manhunter's Hollow, and look for a bandit's hideout there. Interact with the cookpot in the center of the hideout, and players will put the potion inside it. Do the same thing at the cultists' hideout in The Molting Shore. Find a hiding spot near the cookpot, then watch the cutscene. Next, head back to Gulyas.
Timeworn Effigy

Obtain Timeworn Timue Doll hidden in the Forsaken Coast; give it to Timue in Timue's Hovel.
Brought to Heel

Look for one Wild Red Mushroom in the highlighted area for Lumir, then bring it back to him.
A Debt Repaid
- Quest Pick Up Location: Backwater

- Prerequisites: None
- Reward: Ore Cache
Players just need to find Flinn in the highlighted area, kill him, then report back to Kato.
The Greater Good
- Quest Pick Up Location: Backwater
- Quest NPC: Lyndon
- Prerequisites: None
- Reward: Salvage Cache
In order to complete the Greater Good side quest in Diablo 4, players need to head to Backwater and speak to Lyndon. Next, kill all the bandits, gather the supplies, and then head back to Backwater and Lyndon.
Discretionary Spending

Get Lyndon’s stashed supplies for him, then meet up with Lyndon’s contacts. Kill the traitors, then speak with Lyndon again. This will begin the Bait the Trap side quest.

Kill the ambushes in the Secluded Clearing, then the Quiet Clearing, then speak with Lydon before heading to the last ambush at the Isolated Shack.
Dead to Rights

Speak with Lyndon in the Backwater Storage Cellar. Find a hiding place, then slay everyone in Orton’s ambush, including Orton.
Dead in the Water

Tomaj will ask for help burning Fresh Corpses. Then, head out to find the salvaged resources. Players will then find Drowned enemies surrounding and NPC named Ervin. Save him and lead him back to Backwater. Then speak with both Tomaj and Szilvia.
The Writhing Mire Side Quests
The Writhing Mire is located north of both Rotspill Delta and the Blightmarsh. This smallish piece of land holds four quests, three of which are part of one quest chain.
Heart's Burden

After finding the Rusted Dagger, ask about around Wejinhani. Look for the NPC Damen.
Tangled Memories

Kres will send players in search of a puffball reed in the highlighted area of the map. Gather up some of these reeds, then look for the grave of the character named Katherina. Go down the stairs, then place the flowers on the grave. Speak to Kres again.
Growing Reminders

Help Kres remember what he has forgotten by asking him questions about the woman he took the Stolen Idol from. Then, return the Stolen Idol to Timue. She will ask for Marsh Snake Venom from Nangari Spitters to make a salve for Kres. Head back to Kres and apply the salve for him.
Unearthed Regrets

Kres will ask players to find the shallow grave and pick up the Exsanguinated Remains. Burn them, then return to Kres.
Side Quests in Rotspill Delta
Rotspill Delta is the last location to cover on Hawezar's Map. Players will find it along the coast as well, north of the Forsaken Coast.
Good Riddance

Keep searching Slain Villager corpses around the Rotspill Delta until players find the Crossbow quest item, then bring it back to Lyndon in Backwater.
One Little Red Sprig
- Quest Pick Up Location: The Vile Encroach
- Quest Starting Item: Budding Crimson Thorn
- Prerequisites: None
- Reward: Herb Cache
Pick up plants in the area until coming across the Budding Crimson Thorn. Bring it back to Timue in Timue's Hovel in southeastern Blightmarsh.
Traveler's Superstition
- Quest Pick Up Location: Bosun's Woe
- Quest Starting Item: Hastily Scrawled Note
- Prerequisites: None
- Reward: Elixirs in a hidden chest
The quest in Diablo 4 called Traveler's Stuperstition requires players first find the note located in Bosun's Woe. There is a statue that's near where the note was; wave Hello to it with the Hello emote on the emote wheel.
Drink to the Past

- Prerequisites: Bait the Trap side quest
- Reward: Salvage Cache
Search chests around Rotspill Delta until the Kingsport Ale is found. Bring it back to Lyndon in Backwater.
Ire of the Witch
- Quest Pick Up Location: Zurke's Hut
- Quest NPC: Zurke
- Prerequisites: None
- Reward: None
Look for the NPC Samil in the Sodden Graveyard. Players will find his corpse; interact with it before heading back to Zurke, who is in his hut.
Perceived Threat
- Quest Pick Up Location: Zurke's Hut
- Quest NPC: Zurke
- Prerequisites: Ire of the Witch side quest
- Reward: None
Speak to Zurke again, and he will ask players to find Zurke’s experiments. Defeat the enemies until one drops the Uncorrupted Flesh to bring back to Zurke.
Song of Rot
- Quest Pick Up Location: Zurke's Hut
- Quest NPC: Zurke
- Prerequisites: Perceived Threat
- Reward: Herb Cache and Helm of Embalming
Zurke will then charge players to find the Blood Fungus Host and bring him the Blood Fungus. Find Zurke; he will tell players to put the Blood Fungus on Samil’s corpse. Speak with Zurke, and he will start the ritual; protect him from the demons that spawn as he does so. Talk to him again when the whole thing is over.
