Hawezar is where the brunt of Diablo 4's fourth act happens. The region's musty marshes and windy highlands are home to some nasty creatures, from ever-present demonic cultists to a unique type of snake monster that can only be seen within the region's borders.

Like the other regions in Diablo 4, Hawezar has three Strongholds for players to conquer. Anyone who wants to max out their Renown levels across every area in the game will have to hunt each of these cursed places down and liberate them from their monstrous masters. Here's where to find all of Hawezar's Strongholds.

Scosglen

Fractured Peaks

Dry Steppes

Kehjistan

Eriman's Pyre

Right by the border of northern Hawezar and the harsh tundra of the Fractured Peaks is the Cinder Wastes, a smoldering patch of land devastated by an angry wraith. Beyond all the ash and rubble is a ruined village where Eriman's Pyre burns eternal.

This relatively small Stronghold will have players retrieve the corpses of slain villagers to eventually extinguish the pyre and set their souls free. Collect all four corpses to trigger a fight against a special Banshee-type miniboss with strong fire attacks. Defeating it will lay the villagers to rest and unlock the Oblivion dungeon, which holds the Aspect of Shared Misery.

Crusaders' Monument

The Crusaders' Monument in Diablo 4

The roads leading north of Zarbinzet lead to an abandoned monument dedicated to a failed Crusade and the warriors that lost their lives for it. The once-holy place has been disturbed by Graverobbers, causing the resting dead to rise and grow vengeful.

This is another small Stronghold that should take no more than a couple of minutes to complete. Find the Graverobber corpses, grab the Crusader Skulls, and burn them all at the Ritual Brazier in the middle. The boss fight here involves fighting three Crusader ghosts—nothing too hard, but players should still be careful. Completing the Crusader's Monument yields no unlocks, but it will still count towards Hawezar map completion.

Vyeresz

Deep in Hawezar's marshlands is a quaint shanty town with a sinister secret. Vyeresz is the largest Stronghold in the region, and it's overrun by snakes of concerning shapes and sizes. The local snake cult is performing a mysterious ritual in the area, and Sanctuary has enough problems as-is.

The first half of the Stronghold will have players scouring Vyeresz for Snake Eyes, which are used to open the large temple gate in the middle of town. Once open, Nangari snake monsters will replace the cultists as the main enemy—watch out for their poisonous attacks and petrifying gazes. The boss here is a much bigger Nangari that's fairly easy to beat. Kill it to unlock a new Waypoint and vendor station on this side of Hawezar.

Diablo 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
