The Fallen Temple is the gate between Nightmare and Torment difficulty in Diablo 4. It is a level 70+ dungeon that features a ton of demons and cultists as its primary enemies. Players will need more than just a good build here, as its oppressive mechanics can catch even the most well-prepared adventurer off guard.

After completing the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon in Kyovashad, players will get free rein to explore World Tier 3 and everything it has to offer. Eventually, a quest pop-up for the Fallen Temple will appear, enticing players with the allure of World Tier 4 and all of its bonuses to loot, gold, and EXP.

The Fallen Temple is located in the volcanic Chambatar Ridge region of the Dry Steppes. This is the same area where demonic cultists go to worship the Prime Evils, as seen in the third act of the campaign. Teleport to Fate's Retreat and head east to reach the dungeon's entrance, as shown on the map above.

The objective here is to return two stone tablets to their pedestals and collect Animus from Animus Carriers in the hall that follows. However, once players return a tablet, they will be afflicted by either the Curse of the Indolent or Curse of the Weak—the former increases the duration of crowd control effects on the player while the latter increases the damage they take.

Both can stack up to 50 times, and both can be active at the same time. Stacks can be reduced by killing enemies. Complete both objectives to face the final boss: Elias, Hatred's Remnant.

This is essentially the uber version of Elias. He has a different set of attacks, and he hits much harder than he did in the campaign. The curses are no longer in play here, but Elias hits so hard that they might as well be. Make sure to be as close to Level 70 as possible and bring good gear with high resistance to avoid getting killed in a single hit.

Defeat Elias to unlock World Tier 4 at the World Tier Statue in Kyovashad. Torment difficulty will drop even more Legendaries and Uniques as well as Ancestral variants of all items.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
