There are a ton of side quests in Diablo 4. Some are simple fetch or kill jobs, while others are far more significant when it comes to worldbuilding and narrative progression. The Closing the Book quest in the Hawezar region features a little bit of both—it'll take players on a quick journey to a very unfortunate disaster site while collecting important pieces of information.

Many of Diablo 4's side missions are fairly simple, but ones that involve locating objects scattered around its bleak world can be a little problematic, if not totally frustrating. This guide will show all the ledger page locations for this particular side quest to save players some time and effort.

First, players need to clear the Eriman's Pyre Stronghold in the Dismal Foothills; it's near the border between Hawezar and the Fractured Peaks—head northeast of Wejinhani and ride toward the end of the map until Eriman's Pyre becomes visible. Players will know they're near when they enter a scorched forest.

Inside the Stronghold, players will have to root out demons by laying the spirits of deceased villagers to rest. Speak with the Spirit of the Pyre in the center of the village to start a fight and trigger the rest of the objectives.

Here, players need to collect the remains of the slain villagers in order to exorcise the demon in the pyre. The corpse locations are indicated by the beams of demonic power in the air, and they are guarded by swarms of Fallen and a few elites.

After getting all the corpses, extinguish Eriman's Pyre to trigger the fight against Duz'Agur, Eriman's Bane. This boss is a wraith-type enemy with attacks that can quickly chew through a player's health. Stay behind it to avoid its stream of projectiles and whittle away at its health until it dies.

The Closing the Book sidequest will have players revisit the now-cleared Eriman's Pyre to find the lost pages. There should still be monsters in the area, and players will have to ride back to the village unless they have an open portal. The page locations are marked on the map above—go to each spot, grab the ledger pages, and hurry back to Elder Akos to complete the side quest.

Completing the quest rewards players with XP, gold, Renown, and a Salvage Cache containing a random assortment of upgrade materials.

Diablo 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
