Brought to Heel is a side quest in Diablo 4 that is initiated by speaking with Lumir in Blackwater, a town on the southeast coast of Sanctuary. To complete this quest, fans must collect a red mushroom for Lumir, and indeed some players may struggle to find the fungus that they need. Fortunately, it is actually very easy to collect a red mushroom for Diablo 4's Brought to Heel side quest, and this guide will help fans get through this task.

Diablo 4: Collect a Red Mushroom for Lumir

There is one very important thing that players should know about Brought to Heel: the red mushroom that is to be collected for Lumir will not be highlighted and cannot be collected while mounted. As such, fans will need to temporarily dismiss their Diablo 4 horses in order to complete this side quest, and there are two specific positions that they should check while on foot. Those positions have been marked on the following map, and players should simply interact with the Wild Red Mushrooms that they find at them in order to progress to the next quest step.

With respect to exactly what the next quest step is, players must take to the red mushroom back to Lumir in Blackwater once they have collected it. This will mark the end of Brought to Heel, and fans will receive a Rare item, XP, and Gold as rewards for their efforts. Additionally, players will earn 20 Hawezar Renown, which is perhaps the primary reason to spend time working through this side quest in Diablo 4.

For the uninitiated, Diablo 4's Renown system makes exploration and engaging with optional content very rewarding, encouraging players to really dig deep into Sanctuary's regions. Indeed, fans can earn things like Skill Points, Paragon Points, and additional Potion Capacity by gaining Renown, and players that want to maximize the power level of their characters should not ignore this avenue for progression.

Notably, while side quests like Brought to Heel award 20 Renown upon completion, other types of activities grant different amounts. As examples, interacting with an Altar of Lilith in Diablo 4 grants 10 Renown, while completing a Side Dungeon grants 30 Renown. Players can find all of this information in-game by checking the Region Progression menu, which is accessed by opening the map and pressing the View Rewards input that appears near the top, and they are advised to spend some time looking through it.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
