Tasked with ridding the world of the infectious Root, Remnant 2 players have plenty of choices when it comes to character class, each with their own perks, skills, and abilities.

For those who progress far enough into Remnant 2, players will have the opportunity to apply a second character class, known as an Archetype, to their existing one to combine the abilities of both. For those looking to achieve this feat and bolster their character, this is all that is needed to get a secondary Archetype.

Minimum Requirements For A Second Archetype

Summoner Archetype In Remnant 2

Players will make the difficult decision on which Archetype they will take with them as they progress through the narrative in Remnant 2; however, after some time, there is also the option to add a secondary class to their character to broaden their range of abilities. This is achieved by collecting trait points, which are acquired by completing quests or picking up Tomes of Knowledge while exploring the various worlds in the game. Once players have a total of 10 trait points accumulated throughout the life of their campaign, they will be able to add a second archetype to their character's loadout.

Engrams - The Ticket To Another Archetype

Once players have accumulated the required number of trait points, they can visit Wallace to purchase a new Archetype. However, in addition to trait points, players will also need a special item to give to the vendor in exchange for an Engram, which is an upgraded version of the original item.

For the starting Archetypes, the special item can generally be purchased from the vendors and NPCs in Ward 13, such as the Old Whistle from Mudtooth for the Handler Archetype. However, there are a number of secret Archetypes that are still being discovered, including the Gunslinger, Explorer, Summoner, and Alchemist, that require some additional work to access.

Adding Or Changing An Archetype

For players wishing to change their Archetype, they will need to visit Wallace with the Engram. In order to add another one, players will also need to pay 1,000 Scrap and 10 Lumenite Crystals for the work.

It is worth noting that if players want to change their primary Archetype, the progress from the original will not carry over to the new one, so substituting a level 12 Handler for a Medic will result in becoming a level one Medic.

Remnant 2 is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC
