There is no doubt that Diablo 4 is set to be the darkest game of the series thus far, ushering the return of Lilith and Inarius to the land of Sanctuary, created by the coming together of angle and demon. Caught right in the middle of it all will be the players, who certainly have a huge role to play in seeing this titanic battle to the end.

Of course, even at the conclusion of the narrative, it doesn't mean that the job is done. In fact, with this being a live-service game, there is certainly more to do in the endgame than perhaps the bulk of the main progression. A key addition that becomes unlocked once the day is supposedly saved is the new Whispers of the Dead system in Diablo 4, and this is what players can expect to get out of it.
