Unique items in Diablo 4 do exactly what their category class implies: provide one-of-a-kind effects that players won't see anywhere else. Some of these effects are downright amazing, while others might require the perspective of an extra pair of eyes in order to see their real worth.

The Frostburn Unique gloves fall under the latter. At a glance, they seem like a very underwhelming item that has very little to offer. However, it can be used to devastating effect once players know what to do with them. Here are some tips on how to get these gloves in Diablo 4, as well as a quick overview of what they do and where they fit in best.

How to Get the Frostburn Unique Gloves

The Frostburn Unique gloves in Diablo 4

As with every other Unique in the game, Frostburn can be obtained randomly once players enter Nightmare or Torment mode. It will always drop with the same unique power and affixes, though the rolls between duplicates may differ from one another.

One of the best ways to farm for Unique items is to open Tortured Gifts of Mysteries during Helltides. These chests are guaranteed to drop at least one legendary item and a small chance to drop a random Unique. Frostburn can be equipped by any class, which also means that players can farm for this item regardless of what class they are using.

Farming Nightmare Dungeons is also a great way to get Frostburn since completion rewards have a chance of rewarding Unique items. Additionally, items in Nightmare Dungeons have a higher chance of being either Sacred or Ancestral compared to normal dungeons and every other possible loot source in the open world. This means that players can get a Frostburn copy with higher stats than usual.

Is Frostburn Good?

Diablo 4 Sorcerer Ice Age Build Frost Skills

Frostburn has a chance to instantly freeze enemies on a Lucky Hit, making them vulnerable to certain damage-affecting skills and effects. This may seem useless to most players, but builds that lean heavily onto Lucky Hit procs can take advantage of this Unique item fairly well.

Rogues and Sorcerers, in particular, work well with Lucky Hit builds thanks to the passives in their skill trees. Both classes also benefit a lot from attacking frozen enemies. Necromancers also stand to benefit a lot from Frostburn if they have the Bloodless Scream Unique Scythe, which grants a number of bonuses when attacking frozen targets.

Keep in mind that the Frozen status counts as a Crowd Control effect, which means players can take advantage of Frostburn so long as they have a decent-enough chance to score Lucky Hits and any effect that boosts their damage against Crowd-Controlled targets.

Diablo 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
