Diablo 4 has various ways for players to better improve their builds as they progress throughout their time in Sanctuary. From upgrading their gear, to experimenting with other skills, players have plenty of ways to refine their class to better suit their needs.

Aspects are another way for players to better improve their build, especially as they approach the endgame. These Aspects can help in many ways from improving the player's resources to strengthening their skills. Besides upgrading the player's armor to protect them, these Aspects can even be used to improve their defense. Due to this, these are by far some of the best defense Aspects players will want to have equipped.

8 Aspect Of Tempering Blows – Barbarian

Barbarians are by far one of the most tankiest classes available to players in Diablo 4. Players that have chosen the Barbarian class are likely to see their health drop often as many of their skills rely on the player being up close and personal with their opponent.

Thankfully buffs such as Fortify can help improve their chances of survival and the equitable Aspect of Tempering Blows is sure to keep a player fortified. By using this Aspect players will gain sixty-four Fortify once they have swapped their weapons six times. This Aspect can also be found early through completing the Defiled Catacombs in the Fractured Peaks.

7 Aspect Of Might – All

While some Aspects can only be equipped by certain classes, many of the Defense Aspects available to players aren't locked to characters. One great example of this that many players should consider using is the Aspect of Might. By using the Basic Skills of a class, the player grants themselves a twenty percent damage reduction for two seconds.

Some players may argue that this isn't a long time, however, no matter the class a player has chosen they are likely to be using their basic skill above all else making this damage reduction almost constant. Unlike the other Aspects mentioned, the Aspect of Might isn't unlocked from a particular dungeon found in Sanctuary, but instead the player must progress the campaign.

6 Aspect Of Cyclonic Force – Druid

Another sturdy class players are likely to select in Diablo 4 is that of the Druid who can transform into various other creatures to slay their foes. The Druid class also has its own skill that allows the player to equip Cyclone Armor that shields the player by using storms.

By combining this with the Aspect of Cyclonic Force, the storm skill now also provides physical damage reduction while also granting the buffs of the skill to the player's surrounding allies. This is an aspect that will also be found later in the game as the Collapsed Vault dungeon must be completed in Kehjistan.

5 Aspect Of The Iron Warrior – Barbarian

Besides the effects of Fortification, Barbarians can achieve the status of Unstoppable through Aspects such as the Aspect of the Iron Warrior. When using the skill Iron Skin, the player is granted the status of Unstoppable as well as a ten percent damage reduction.

With the status on during Iron Skin the player will remove all control impairing effects from their character while also preventing them from receiving them again. Barbarians can earn this Aspect in the Dry Steppes once they've completed the Carrion Fields dungeon.

4 Aspect Of Mending Stone – Druid

Earthen Bulwark is another defensive skill that Druids have available to them in Diablo 4. With this skill activated players can absorb damage for a short duration of time while also damaging their opponent.

By combining this with the Aspect of Mending Stone the duration of Earthen Bulwark is increased to six seconds; every enemy killed with Earth skills during it also replenishes the barrier from the skill. Players will want to quickly complete the Sealed Archives dungeon in the Dry Steppes to get this Aspect.

3 Snowveiled Aspect – Sorcerer

Sorcerer is by far one of the most popular classes in Diablo 4 due to how incredibly overpowered the class can be with the right build equipped. Just like Barbarian or Druid, even the Sorcerer class has its own assortment of armor skills with Ice Armor being the most popular.

With the Snowveiled Aspect equipped from Sarat's Lair in Scosglen, players can also make themselves unstoppable for two seconds of the duration of the skill. Although a short amount of time, with how fragile the class can be these two seconds could be the difference between life and death.

2 Enshrouding Aspect – Rogue

Rogues are the most evasive class in the Diablo franchise, and this continues to be the case in Diablo 4. They may at first appear as if they lack any sort of defense, but their agility allows them to stay alive. This can be improved further through Aspects such as the Enshrouding Aspect which gives the player a free Dark Shroud shadow every three seconds when they stand still.

The longer the character remains still the small shadows will spawn, and each shadow then reduces the player's damage by two percent. Unfortunately, this Aspect can be found after completing the Ghoa Ruins in Hawezar which is quite late into the game.

1 Aspect Of The Protector – All

Out of all the Defense Aspects available for players in Diablo 4, one Aspect that players will want to find as soon as possible is the Aspect of the Protector. When damaging an Elite enemy, the player is granted a barrier that protects them from upcoming damage for ten seconds.

Although this can only happen every thirty seconds it can make dealing with Elite foes much easier, especially for new players. Like Aspect of Might, players of any class can have this buff equipped. Thankfully it can also be earned quickly too due to being found in the starting region by completing the Lost Archives.

Diablo 4 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
