The Druid's line of Shapeshifting abilities in Diablo 4 offers some of the most fun styles of gameplay the class has to offer. There are a lot of possible combinations that players can make using these abilities, and many of them are capable of taking Druids far into the endgame.

The Dire Wolf's Aspect is the secret ingredient to making such combinations happen. It's mandatory for a number of Diablo 4 Druid builds, so players must get at least one copy of this Aspect for themselves if they want to try them out. Here are some tips on how to get this legendary power.

How to Get the Dire Wolf's Aspect in Diablo 4

Unfortunately, the Dire Wolf's Aspect cannot be unlocked in the Codex of Power. Like many other Aspects in the game, it can only be obtained via random loot drops when playing as the class tied explicitly to it (Druid, in this case).

This is an Offensive Aspect, which means it can drop on weapons, gloves, and accessories. Players can target farm for this by either opening Tortured Gift Chests during Helltides or by spending Murmuring Obols on Purveyors of Curiosities inside towns.

Once players get the Dire Wolf's Aspect, they can extract it from the item they received by visiting an Occultist. This allows the Aspect to be imprinted onto other items, allowing for more flexibility when it comes to buildcrafting.

What Does the Dire Wolf's Aspect Do?

This Legendary Aspect turns players into a Dire Werewolf instead of a Dire Werebear when using the Grizzly Rage Ultimate ability. When transformed into a Dire Werewolf, players gain increased movement speed and Spirit cost reduction, and all kills will heal them for a percentage of their life.

Grizzly Rage, supported by Dire Wolf's Aspect, works best with one of the many variants of the Druid Werewolf build. When slotted into a 2H weapon, Dire Wolf's Aspect can reduce Shred's Spirit cost to zero—combine this with Rabies or Poison Creeper with the Aspect of the Blurred Beast and players will get rabid Werewolf build that can essentially teleport from pack to pack without spending any Spirit.

Players who want to make a hybrid Shapeshifting and Nature build can pair Dire Wolf and Stormclaw Aspects together to create a Lightning Werewolf build with high single-target and AOE damage. Keep in mind that Grizzly Rage prevents players from using their non-Shapeshifting skills.

Diablo 4 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
